Facebook Product Catalog vs Google Product Catalog

Both sync your products to external platforms, but their goals and benefits differ:

Activation Flow (Google Product Catalog Example)

  1. Pick the main category and subcategoryIn the two "Google Product Category" dropdowns, pick the main category first, then the subcategory.
  2. Click "Activate"On success: "Activated successfully". On failure: "Activation failed; please contact the site administrator".
  3. Verify the domain with GoogleClick "Google Domain Verification", enter the verification code from Google Merchant Center, check "I've completed verification", then click "Save". On success: "Submitted successfully".
  4. Copy the product feed URLAfter activation, the page shows "File Hosting URL" with a copy icon. Paste this URL into the corresponding field in Google Merchant Center.
Extensions NotesBefore activating, make sure the merchant account on the corresponding platform (Facebook Business, Google Merchant Center) is fully set up. Once a catalog is active, product data changes auto-sync to the platform without re-uploads.
