Set meta tags, structured data and sitemap to improve Google search rankings

Accessing the page

From the left main menu, click 'Promotions', then select 'Search Engine Optimization (SEO)'. Once inside, the top displays: Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The page shows a description: 'SEO for site pages — you can edit search result content to improve site click-through rates.' 'This feature is very important for search rankings. Please describe each page carefully and thoroughly.'

Connecting your Google Account

There is a 'Connect to Google' button at the top of the page. After connecting, you can use the Sitemap submission feature. Once connected, the page displays 'Connected Google Account' and offers a 'Connect to another Google Account' option.

Top Tabs

Pages
Edit SEO for each site page (Home, About Us, Contact Us, etc.)
Products
Edit SEO for each product. The data syncs with the 'SEO Settings' tab in the product editor.
Categories
Edit SEO for each product category

SEO Editing Fields

SEO Title
Title displayed in search results (no more than 60 characters)
SEO Description
Description text displayed in search results (no more than 160 characters)
SEO Keywords
Keywords describing the page (used for internal SEO structured data)
Image
Representative image used for social media share previews (applies to product pages)

Submitting Sitemap

The page provides a 'Submit to Google for indexing now' button. Once your Google account is connected, click submit to send the sitemap of all store pages to Google. A successful submission shows 'Sitemap submitted successfully to Google'. A failure displays 'If you cannot submit the sitemap, please reconnect and try again.'

SEO Writing Tips

  • Include action-oriented wordsFor example, 'Buy Now' or 'Free Shipping' to entice visitors to click through.
  • Include keywords your target customers may searchFor example, 'Hong Kong handmade soap' or 'natural skincare'.
  • Stay relevant to page content; each page should differAvoid using the same SEO description across all pages.

Customer-side display (SEO)

  • Google/Bing search resultsWhen customers search relevant keywords, the store's pages appear with the SEO title and description set by the merchant.
  • Social share previewWhen customers paste the store link into Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram, the preview automatically pulls in the SEO title, description, and image.
  • Sitemap indexingPages with submitted sitemaps usually appear in Google search results within 1–7 days.
